豊受大神宮別宮 月夜見宮(伊勢神宮 外宮) Tsukiyomi-no-miya (Geku Betsugu)

This betsugu is a betsugu of Geku, sacred to Tsukiyomi-no-mikoto.

Located in Miyajiri 1-chome, Ise City, this betsugu is a betsugu of Geku, sacred to Tsukiyomi-no-mikoto and the aramitama (rough spirit) of Tsukiyomi-nomikoto. It stands in the riverside area once called “Takakawara” of a branch of the Miyagawa River, and, as the guardian of rivers, has close connections with agriculture in the riverside area. The betsugu was originally sessha, and redesignated betsugu in 1210.
